Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

I'm awkward in photos, how will I know what to do?

In terms of “posing”, I take a more natural approach. I like to call it “prompting”, because it’s not really posing at all. It’s more like “whisper in her ear your favorite spread to have on your toast in the morning” and I’ll capture the in-between moments when you’re laughing hysterically.

What if my kids don't cooperate? How can I make the session go smoothly?

I don't expect kids to "be good" during their session. In fact, if they get to be a little naughty, that will probably get us some genuine smiles and laughter. What you can do is allow your child to be themselves. The kids are in charge! Try not to tell them no or scold them for anything during our time together and your photos will turn out happy and carefree!

What do you recommend us to wear during our session?

Think timeless and classic! This includes simple dresses, button downs, baby rompers, blazers, etc. I strongly recommend that my clients wear neutral tones.
If you have a group photo, coordinate, don’t copy. Pick two or three colors that are flattering for everyone, and work those colors into each outfit in varying degrees. Feel free to mix in a pattern or two as long as the colors coordinate.
I also have a pinterest board dedicated to attire inspiration that can be seen here: https://www.pinterest.com/stillsbyzariah/boards/

How long will it take to get my photos back?

I may post an image or two on social media to give you a little peek while I'm working on your images. Turn around time for your photos is three weeks, although I often deliver them within the first two! Weddings are six to eight weeks.

How will I receive my images?

You'll receive a link via email to your gallery of full resolution photos. Prints & albums available — don’t let these memories die in your camera roll!

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. In order to secure your spot, I require half of your total price. The deposit is non-refundable.

Do I get all the images from the session?

No, you get the image count promised in the package you booked. You have the option to purchase additional edited images if you would like.

I have acne, can you retouch?

Yes, basic skin retouching is included. For extra retouching, (color changes, head swaps, tattoo removal, etc.) extra charges may apply.

Do you offer mini sessions?

Mini sessions are offered periodically throughout the year.
They typically last 15-30 minutes and include 10-25 high resolution digital images depending on the theme.

Do you travel?

Absolutely! If you’d like me to meet you in a destination outside of the surrounding counties where I don’t already have plans to visit, I’m up for the adventure! Just let me know and I can get you a custom quote.
